Greater Columbia Community

The YMCA is a community-based organization, founded and run by community members. Each year the YMCA of Columbia partners with the community through "The Partners with Youth Express" and "Activate Greater Columbia."

Both programs promote health & wellness in the Greater Columbia area.

The Partners with Youth Campaign is the key to delivering on the promise to the community. Each year, volunteers raise dollars from donors to make the YMCA dream a reality for thousands of young people and families.

In recent years:

• 5,000 families were helped in our community
• Hundreds of working parents knew their children were safe at a YMCA after school program
• Seniors were able to enjoy fellowship as well as regular exercise at the YMCA

Activate Greater Columbia

Activate Greater Columbia  is a FREE year-round healthy living awareness program that targets youth and adult obesity and related diseases. The program encourages participants to accumulate at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity five days per week by completing their daily activity log online.  More information at: http://www.activategreatercolumbia.org
