The YMCA wants the entire family growing healthy together. Children can attend the following classes with their parents.
5 years old and up - Zumba
10 years old and up - Yoga
15 years old and up - Cardio classes, Step, Pilates, 20/20/20, Boot Camp, Body Sculpting, Rep Reebok and Cycle
The YMCA has partnered with Earwood Martial Arts to offer karate classes for members of all ages. The karate program emphasizes discipline, self respect and fun. Classes are held at the NorthWest Family YMCA 3 times a week. Class levels are children 4-6 years old, youth 7-11 years old and adult 12 years and older. Enrollment is monthly to encourage continuous year round training. Classes start August 10th!
Now offered as part of our group exercise schedule and included in YMCA memberships! This ancient Chinese martial art improves strength and flexibility. Classes begin Monday evenings, Sept 13th.
We will watch your child in a supervised area for two hours per day, per child while you workout. (Included in family membership).

For the first time triathlete to the advanced competitor, this club is for anyone interested in doing triathlons! This group will participate in group workouts, have quarterly guest speakers And train to participate in upcoming triathlons.

Program focuses on teaching the basic components of physical fitness, warmup, cardiovasular, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, and cool down.
Ages: 3-5 years old and K5-5th grade
An introduction to Yoga that teaches kids breathing, relaxation and simple poses. Provides them with relaxation and stretching skills they can use throughout their lives. Classes are 30 minutes. Please check the group exercise schedule for class times for your child’s age level.

A fun class designed with kids in mind! A great way for kids to stay in shape and get a great cardiovascular, low impact work-out to the salsa beat! Please check the group exercise schedule for class times.

20 minute segments of hi/lo aerobics, step and body sculpting. A great workout for the entire body.

A 15 minute class that concentrates on strengthening the abdominal muscles and ends with stretches for the entire body.

Resistance training in the form of free weights, body weight, manual resistance and tubing provide a way to improve muscular strength and endurance. Each exercise targets a specific muscle group.

Get ready to work out- Military style! This is a great, high intensity interval workout. This class increases your strength, endurance and cardiovascular strength through athletic drills.

A mix of your cardio favorites including kickboxing, aerobics and step.

Peddle your way through high and low cadence levels as well as a variety of jumps and training techniques. Cycle class is a great way to improve endurance. Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to get set up on your bike. Water and sweat towel are highly recommended.

A fun cardio class incorporating dance moves for kids. Class is 30 minutes long.

A body conditioning method that strengthens and tones the whole body with an emphasis on the core postural muscles (abdominals, pelvic and lower back muscle regions).

This class uses varies weights in a periodized training program. Participants will firm, tone and build muscle strength.

| A class designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activity for daily living. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance; a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. |
This class will improve cardiovascular fitness with emphasis on the muscles of the lower body. A great workout for all fitness levels with easy to follow steps.

Through bodily postures and breathing techniques, gain better health and develop control over metabolism and blood flow. The system of mental and physical exercise helps participants achieve their goal of integration of the soul with the body and mind.

A challenging intense form of practice incorporating various yoga postures focusing on the flow of breath and building heat. Practice will vary by class from holding poses longer in order to build isometric strength and flexibility, to a more flowing (vinyasa) style with greater variety of postures. Previous yoga experience is advised.
