Health & Wellness

Personal Training

Beginning exercisers learn correct exercise techniques and patterns, as well as proper progression, with the guidance of a Personal Trainer. Intermediate exercisers often reach a plateau in their workouts and fitness levels. Your experienced Personal Trainer will show you new techniques and training methods that will allow you to surpass your plateau and advance you to a new level of fitness.

Take Charge!
Ages: 18 years & up This 10 week small group personal training program offers 3 one hour sessions per week (30 sessions total!) With the use of weights, we will rev up your metabolism building muscle and melting fat with cardio intervals. Pick the time and days that work best for you. Nutritional and online support are provided. January 9th - March 20th Member: $250 w/$20 registration fee

YFit (ages 12-14)
Jumpstart (ages 10-11)

Prepares youth for limited use of the Wellness Center. This program focuses on teaching the basic components of physical fitness: warm-up, cardiovascular, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, and cool-down.  In order to exercise in the Wellness Center students must complete the orientation. Pre-registration is required .

Fitness Assessment

This test will give you a visual idea of where you stand on the fitness scale.  Fitness coaches will test your muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, cardio strength and body fat composition.

Wellness Orientation (ages 15 and up)

This is a one-time meeting with a  fitness coach to design a personalized fitness program to help you attain your specific fitness goal.  Learn to use the cardiovascular equipment and strength equipment safely and effectively by taking advantage of this orientation.  Sign up with a Wellness Coach for an appointment.

Home School Swim and Gym
Ages: Grades K and up
Let your home-schooled youth enjoy many opportunities the Y has to offer. With certified, passionate and enthusiastic instructors, our staff will teach your children more fundamentals to physical activity with lessons involving team concepts, sport development and nutrition as well as building and following the core values of the YMCA. Your children will also enjoy time in the pool with fun and instructional games that will enable them to become better swimmers.
Wednesdays 9:00am – 12:00pm
Member: $35.00/ $20.00 each additional child
Non-member: $70.00/ $20.00 each additional child

Quenched
Ages: 5 years and up
This is an individualized eight week program for obese youth and their parents. The purpose of this program is to help obese youth build strong, healthy lifestyles to last them for their lifetime. The program is designed to assist the family with nutrition and exercise building guidelines and foundations to stay healthy and fit. Group Exercise Descriptions

Body Sculpt

Members concentrate on various muscle groups to achieve a total body workout. This class uses hand weights, tubing, body bar & bands.  Body sculpting is very different than Weighted Workout class because the movements are at a faster pace, additional lower body toning exercises are incorporated, & it is different routine every time.

Cardio Meltdown

Aerobic activity and/or strength training mixed together in a variety of ways. This class offers a wide range of cardio and strength exercises that keep you on your toes!


Kickboxing

Experience various martial art disciplines combined together to create an exhilarating and challenging fitness class. It provides muscle-conditioning, offers improvements in cardiovascular fitness and flexibility.

Pilates

A body conditioning method that strengthens and tones the whole body with an emphasis on the abdominal and back muscles (Core).  Pilates exercises can improve posture and flexibility, thus enhancing appearance and grace of movement.  Pilates is a mind/body exercise that requires concentration and focus to perform the movements correctly and effectively.  This is not your typical strength training class

Step Cardio

This dynamic class allows participants a variety of options within aerobic activities, toning exercises and various fitness levels.  Stepping involves a platform of varying heights, upon which participants learn a variety of patterns and combinations.

Boot Camp

Front & Center! High energy, intense cardio training guaranteed to boost your energy and metabolism to new heights. Easy to follow step moves, plyometric moves, circuit training, jump rope, running drills, abdominal work and push-ups. Drop and give it your all!

Yoga

Through bodily postures and breathing techniques, gain better health and develop control over metabolism and blood flow.  This system of mental and physical exercise helps participants achieve their goal of integration of the soul with the body and mind.

Piyo

A fusion of  Pilates and Yoga.  The difference between the two are demonstrated and explained.  The instructor will then fuse together the two comprehensive workouts to get the best out of both mind/body worlds.

Core & More

This class focuses on core strength and balance awareness. With the use of stability balls, lightweights, tubing, and medicine balls you will learn how to use and maintain your core strength as you train other muscle groups. Great for improving your balance.

 

Zumba

This class combines energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allows the Zumba participants to dance away their worries.

Yoga

We offer various forms of yoga including gentle, flowing, and intermediate.

Kickboxing

An interval workout using athletic combinations of kicks, punches, jabs, blocks, etc.

Rock Bottom

Want to reshape the lower body? This is the class for you. Rock Bottom targets buttocks, hips, thighs, and calves. With the use of dumbbells, ankle weights, tubing, varying, step heights and plyometric moves, you will definitely make a change to lower body. Be prepared to work!

Repreebok

A fast paced, fat burning total body workout!  Similar to Body Sculpting!  Watch yourself become familiar with the workout & gain muscle tone along with strength!

Games & More Games

Fitness is fun, as this class will prove it.  Children will incorporate team building and problem skills while having fun and moving their bodies.

Kid's Fit Boot Camp

A dance class for kids.  We will move our body to the beat of the music and have fun doing it.  HipHop, Zumba, and Popular line dances will provide the foundation for a movin’ good time.

Mixed Level Yoga

Designed for Beginners and Intermediates to work side by side practicing solid fundamentals and the classic yoga poses. Gain a deeper awareness of your body and develop higher levels of focus, strength, flexibility and endurance. The teacher will address every student's needs, making it possible for everybody to progress at their own pace and motivating them with new poses and variations. Not appropriate for those with major physical limitations.

Cycling

Take the ride of your life with a Certified Cycle Instructor. These classes incorporates the non-impact, high-calorie-burning benefits of cycling along with proper biomechanics and motivational techniques based on sports psychology.
